Saifedean Ammous is a brilliant and refreshing Economist, he departs from the usual Keynes theories and delivers clear arguments why Bitcoin is the better Gold.This book would be a great mental exercise for everyone who believes in Keynesian economics. Its good to leave the Keynesian echo chamber and hear other opinions. I feel like that most Keynesians would dismiss anything else as ridiculous and don't expose them self to the world outside their echo chamber.Reading this book feels like reading about the "big Short" theory of 2007, when the Housing bubble bursted. Which Keynesians were not able to predict and just called it a "Black Swan event".I feel that in 10 years many of the same Economist will call the emergence of Bitcoin a Black Swan event as well.
Das Buch ist sehr anspruchsvoll geschrieben. Wer ein Buch über Bitcoin erwartet, wird hier enttäuscht werden. Die ersten 2/3 handelt über Geldtheorie, lediglich das letzte drittel nimmt Bezug auf Cryptowährungen. Also ich fand es interessant aber aufgrund der Sprache hatte ich teilweise schon Verständnisschwierigkeiten.
This is a phenomenal book by Dr. Ammous. He explains thoroughly the purpose of money and the interesting history of goods used as such: from barter to tokens to gold to Bitcoin.Easily accessible for the uninitiated.Definitely worth a read!
I highly enjoyed the theoretical monetary discussion, and how Bitcoins can be compared to Gold and the Gold Standard in terms of a decentralized monetary system. Dr. Saifedean Ammous invested a lot of work, and the result is a highly recommended read of the future of money. The book doesn’t fail in pointing out chances & opportunities, as well as threads of the Bitcoin Standard. Blockchain without Bitcoin doesn’t make sense. Well done! I use parts of this book in class for my bachelor students in finance and economics. I can highly recommend it to everybody who would like to understand the monetary system including the Bitcoin Revolution!
Although called the Bitcoin Standart, it doesn’t really tell that much about Bitcoin itself, it’s purpose is to give the reader the best possible fundamentals about Economic and Monetary policies through the history of humankind and then Explaining why Bitcoin is worth as much as it is and why it will succeed. The Autor did an Amazing job at explaining the Economic and Technical aspects of Bitcoin in a correct and easy to understand way. I learned a lot from this book and can only recommend it to everyone willing to sacrifice some of his personal time, in order to gain some valuable knowledge about Bitcoin and why it will be a successful project the next coming years.Thank you Saifdean for this amazing lecture 👌
as soon as I got this book I read it very fast because I was very interested in the economical aspects of bitcoin and it was worth it! it starts with a brief history of money and explains how gold became the standard for sound money. in the book are also great charts and models that explain very well how currencies developed in the last years. mind blowing for me was the model of the stock-to-flow-ratio and its connection to bitcoin. obviously the focus of the bitcoin standard is an economical view and very low technical view on bitcoin. I can really recommend the book of Saifedean! READ IT!

Empfehlenswert auf jeden Fall für jeden der den Wert von Bitcoin besser verstehen möchte
